Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has led five of his counterparts in commissioning a remodelled, state-of-the-art greenhouse nicknamed the “Cucumber Farm”, an agricultural initiative aimed at transforming food security in the region.
The Adviser to the Taraba Governor on Media and Digital Communications, Mr. Emmanuel Bello, said in a statement, that the world-class technology ensures vegetables are cultivated all year long irrespective of climatic conditions.

According to him,” apart from the famous green pepper, the world-class tomatoes here are clearly the best in the market. Healthy, fleshy, and nutritious. Experts say Taraba state has invariably become the headquarters of vegetables in the country.”

“Moreover, at the forefront of the push are the duo of Ohad Shtilman and Eyal Tal, who are working with a brilliant team of the TSI to ensure the survival of the project.
“The group has learnt from experience when the farm once collapsed. Thus, they are determined to deal with all the loopholes and run a successful enterprise.”

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state, while commissioning the project, said the farm had the potential of addressing hunger in the subregion and the country at large.
The event was held on the sidelines of the North-East Governors’ Forum summit held in the Taraba state capital, Jalingo.
