NPFL: Bendel Insurance Holds Enyimba, Rangers Beat Doma

Defending champions Enyimba FC were held to a 0-0 draw by Bendel Insurance in their Nigeria Premier Football League match day 21 encounter, while Rangers International beat hosts Doma United 1-0 on Saturday.

At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Saturday, the hosts dominated the game but were unable to break down the resilient defence of Enyimba FC.

Enyimba goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo made a brilliant save in the last minute of the game to deny Bendel Insurance from taking all three (3) points as the match finished 0-0.

It was Enyimba’s first game since the return of head coach Finidi George and captain Olorunleke Ojo from Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) duties.

The result means the Peoples Elephants remain in third position with 36 points from 21 games, while Bendel Insurance are in 8th place with 31 points.

Doma United 0-1 Rangers International

Rangers International of Enugu defeated Doma United 1-0 to secure three (3) valuable points away from home, at the Pantami Township Stadium in Gombe, Gombe State.

Midfielder Chinemerem Ugwueze fired home from just inside the box on the half hour mark after a cut back by Chidiebere Nwobodo.

It was the Flying Antelopes first away win of the season.

Rangers are in 4th place on the NPFL log with 34 points from 21 games, while Doma United are in 7th with 32 points from 21 games.
