NPFL: Kwara United Held, Plateau, Nasarawa, Rivers Win
Kwara United remained on top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table after forcing a 1-1 draw at Wikki Tourists on Sunday, while Plateau United, Nasarawa United, Rivers United and Adamawa United all won.
Jibola Adeleke rescued a point for Kwara United in the closing minutes at Wikki. Afonja Warriors now have 26 points from 14 matches.
Kano Pillars 1-1 Rangers
Kano Pillars moved into second place after they forced visiting Enugu Rangers to a 1-1 draw, with Ernest Governor and Auwalu Malam Ali finding the back of the net.
They have 24 points, same as Enyimba, whose tie was shifted to allow them focus on their CAF Confederation Cup group game against Al Benghazi of Libya in midweek. Rangers also have 24 points.
Plateau United 3-1 MFM FC
A brace from Mohammed Zulkifilu and a goal from Isah Ndala fired Plateau to a 3-1 victory against MFM. Adeyinka Nojeem scored a consolation for MFM.
Plateau United climbed to ninth son the NPFL table with 19 points.
Nasarawa United 1-0 Lobi Stars
Ikenna Ofor scored the only goal of the game as Nasarawa United beat Lobi Stars 1-0 to climb to 5th on the NPFL table with 23 points, while Lobi Stars are in 10th place with 19 points.
Nasarawa United will travel to play Sunshine Stars on the 14th of March.
Rivers United 2-0 Jigawa Golden Stars
Goals from Godwin Aguda and Cletus Emotan were enough to defeat Jigawa Golden Stars 2-0 in Port Harcourt. Rivers are 7th on the table with 22 points while Jigawa Golden Stars are 16th with 17 points. Rivers are the only team with a 100% home win record in the NPFL this season (Played 6, Won 6).
Rivers United will play Ifeanyi Ubah United on the 14th of March, while Jigawa Golden Stars will play Akwa United at home.
