NPFL ROUNDUP: Rivers United stay top

Rivers United have consolidated their leadership of the NPFL after a 2-1 home win over Heartland on a day Enugu Rangers and Kwara United split the points on the road.

Kwara United held Jigawa Golden Stars to a scoreless draw, while Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by MFM FC in Lagos.

Abia Warriors were also held to a 1-1 draw by hosts FC Ifeanyiubah.

It was the Umuahia club’s first point of the season after they lost their first four matches for coach Imama Amapakabo to be issued a 3-match ultimatum.

Otherwise, it was a day that the home teams called the shots.

Plateau United recorded the biggest win of the week courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Adamawa United, Enyimba stopped Kano Pillars 2-1 and Lobi Stars were 2-1 winners over Dakkada FC.
