NYSC Boss calls for the sustenance of Ramadan virtues

The Director General of the National Youth service corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Yasha’u Ahmed has felicitated with corps members, staff and the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

The Director General said that the virtues of sacrifice, discipline, tolerance, love, care for the needy and deep spirituality which characterised the period of fasting should be sustained, internalized and displayed in everyday life, as they as individuals collectively and progressively build a united and developed entity which posterity, and indeed Africans shall be proud of.

He said: “The National Youth Service Corps, a responsible and responsive institution, which in almost 50 years of existence has become a household name, the pivot of national unity, and catalyst for development shall continue to be in the forefront of this patriotic march to national development.

Remarkably, the Eid-El-Fitri celebration provides us with a unique opportunity for sober reflection, self-evaluation, and the need to continuously re-dedicate ourselves to the service of our beloved country, by deploying our talent, time and treasure towards the upliftment of Nigeria,’’ he said.

He reassured stakeholders, that the impact of the Scheme, which undeniably is felt in every sector of the country’s national life, shall continue to be sustained and deepened in the many years ahead.

He added that the welfare of Corps Members, as well as staff members, shall continue to be prioritised by NYSC Management.
