Ogunbote’s Shooting Stars reign starts with a loss
The third return of Coach Gbenga Ogunbote to Shooting Stars of Ibadan began with a loss.
His wards were beaten 1-0 by Vandrezzer FC of Lagos in their opening game of the ValueJet Preseason Tournament in Ikenne, Ogun State.
Ogunbote was unveiled Monday as the new helmsman for the Oluyole Warriors.
The Ibadan side dominated possession but found no joy as Vandrezzer took the lead through a 52nd minute strike from Ibrahim Yusuf.

They held on to win their Group A encounter.
Shooting Stars must now beat Plateau United, Remo Stars and Ijebu United to make an impression.
Remo Stars came from a goal down to beat rivals Ijebu United 2-1 in the other match of the day.
Group B has the following teams: NPFL Champions Rivers United, Kwara United, Gateway United, Smart City and Ottasolo FC.

Kwara United were held 1-1 by Ottasolo FC, while 10 men Smart City FC held Gateway United to a draw.
