The Ondo State Government has officially handed over the Okitipupa Tech Hub to the management of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH).
Established to promote students’ innovation, creativity, and engagement with emerging technologies, the Tech Hub is equipped with a server room, training and incubation facilities, and several internet-enabled desktop computers to support learning, research, and technology-driven projects.
Speaking during the official handover in Okitipupa on Friday, the Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Information Technology Agency, Mr. Tomide Akinribido said; “the hub would enhance innovation, creativity, and digital skills among OAUSTECH students and the wider university community.”
He said that the Tech Hub, which was inaugurated in December 2025, would also support students in emerging technologies, particularly those studying Information Technology, Electrical/Electronics, and Computer Science.
“We are here to handover the Tech Hub to OAUSTECH management that has been doing well in the area of Information Technology, the government wants to support the university to add to what Technical Education Trusfund (TETFund) is doing in the university.”
“The university management has been doing well in ICT and I hope the students will make judicious use of the Tech Hub in driving their emerging technologies in innovation, creativity and add to their academic excellence,” Akinribido said.
The Vice-Chancellor, OAUSTECH, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa commended the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa for approving funds for the Tech Hub and praised the visionary strides of the agency for driving and sustaining the vision.
He said that the Tech Hub would accelerate the creativity and innovation of students who are studying in the area of computers and technology.
“I will advice our lecturers and students to take the advantage of the Tech Hub to expand their horizon because that is why we are one of the leading universities in the area of ICT,” Ologunorisa said.
