Orban voted Europa Conference League Player of the Week

Nigerian attacker, Gift Orban of K.A.A. Gent, was announced on Friday as the UEFA Europa Conference League Player of the Week.

The 21-year-old finished ahead of Daniel Peretz (Maccabi Tel Aviv) Jason Svanthorsson (Breidalik) and Faris Moumbagna (Bodo/Glimt) to the award.

Orban emerged winner following his hat-trick feat in Gent’s 3-2 win against Iceland club Breidablik in Group B of the Europa Conference League.

He gave Gent the lead in the 6th minute before a brace from Svanthorsson on 16th and 18th gave Breidablik a 2-1 lead.

He drew the Belgian side level in the 54th minute after scoring from the penalty spot.

In the 69th minute, he then completed his hat-trick to make it 3-2.
