The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced his resignation from the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

A copy of the letter made available to journalists on Monday evening indicated that the Governor tendered his resignation letter since November 4th, 2025.

The letter personally signed by Governor Adeleke, and addressed to the PDP Chairman for ward 2, Sagba Abogunde of Ede North Local government, Osun State reads in part: “Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect.”

Adeleke thanked the Peoples Democratic Party for the opportunities given to him for his elections as a Senator and as Governor of Osun State under the Peoples Democratic Party.

He has, however, not disclosed his next move or the political party under which he intends to seek re-election for a second term in office.
