Police Commissions Donated Patrol Vehicle in Anambra State

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has officially commissioned a patrol vehicle generously donated to the 3-3 police division by the 3-3 community near Onitsha. This donation aims to help fight the increasing insecurity in the area.

During the commissioning, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, represented by ACP James Ihiebe, expressed his gratitude to the chairman of the Works Committee, Mr Jonathan Egonu, and the residents for donating the vehicle. He assured them that this gesture would have a positive impact and urged the police to make the best use of the vehicle for the benefit of the community.

The CP also addressed concerns about the alleged assault on residents by the Special Anti-Cultism Squad (SPACS). He warned that any member of SPACS caught carrying out illegal operations would face consequences and stated that such behavior is not acceptable.

Moreover, the CP responded to requests for more police personnel to enhance security in the area, explaining the current limitations in personnel and highlighting the importance of collaboration with vigilante groups in ensuring safety.

 “The donation of the patrol vehicle and the collaborative efforts of the community, police, and vigilante groups demonstrate a united front in combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents in the 3-3 area near Onitsha,” the CP said.

The chairman of the Works Committee, Barr. Jonathan U. Egonu credited the success of procuring the vehicle to the unity and shared vision of the estates within the police division. He praised the community for their dedication to service and emphasized that the patrol vehicle would significantly improve the operational capacity of the division.

Community leaders, including Chief Willie Okafor and Chief Okonkwo E. Angus, commended the efforts to enhance security and reduce crime in the area. They emphasized the importance of cooperation between the police, residents, and vigilante groups in achieving a safer community.

Additionally, the commander of the Vigilante group in 3-3, Mr. Ikechukwu Odigbo, highlighted the vital role of patrol vehicles in responding to emergencies and protecting lives and property. He reiterated the group’s commitment to ensuring a safe festive period with the support of residents.
