Police record success in combating crime in Gombe State

The Gombe State Police Command in Northeast Nigeria has again recorded successes in the fight against crime and in ensuring sustainable peace in the State.

Addressing journalists in Gombe, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, noted that the rescue of kidnapped victims happened in Labe Village of Nafada, Nafada Local Government Area of the State.

He said local hunters have collaborated with Police operatives to combat crime and rescue victims.

Mr Abubakar said exhibits from the criminals were recovered, “Victims were taken to Hospital for a medical checkup.” 

He said investigations are ongoing and the case would soon be charged to court.

According to the PPRO, the Gombe State Police Command, under the watch of the Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim, will continue to entrench strategies that would involve engaging community leaders, youth groups and other stakeholders for inclusive community safety, based on crime prevention and community safety.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order within the state, saying the command will work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.

The Command urges the public to support the police by providing them with timely information and reporting any suspicious activities in their communities, through the emergency helpline.
