The Presidency has lauded the ranking of Lagos State as the world’s fastest-growing emerging tech ecosystem, describing it as proof of positive progress under President Tinubu and a rebuke to critics.
Reacting to the ranking in a post on X, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, highlighted this achievement as evidence of the administration’s economic success.
The comment followed the release of a list by Global Statistics ranking Lagos number one among the world’s top 20 fastest-growing emerging technology ecosystems.
Mr Onanuga’s post lauded the ranking as a counterpoint to what he described as persistent negative narratives about the state of the country pushed by opposition politicians.
According to the ranking, Lagos topped the list ahead of Istanbul in Turkey, Pune in India, Belo Horizonte in Brazil, Mumbai in India, and other major cities across Asia, Africa and South America.
The ranking, highlighted Lagos’ growing prominence in the global technology space.
