President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the successful rescue of all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, crediting the operation to the sustained efforts of Nigeria’s security forces over recent days.
The President made this known on Sunday, November 23rd, via a post shared on his official X handle @Official ABAT.
The President also announced the recovery of 51 students out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State.
The President said he is closely monitoring the security situation across the country and receiving constant updates from the frontline.
He said; “Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued.
“I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State, have been recovered.
“I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline.”
President Tinubu stressed that his administration would not back down in the fight against insecurity, declaring that “every Nigerian, in every state, is entitled to safety.”
He affirmed that under his watch, the government would secure the nation and protect its people.
“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” President Tinubu said.
The Nigerian Leader had cancelled his trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally coordinate security efforts back at home in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that last Tuesday, November 18th, some worshippers were abducted when bandits attacked a branch of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) at Oke Isegun in the Eruku community, a boundary town with Kogi in the Ekiti LGA of Kwara state.
