President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Pa Nathaniel Okoro, pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), on the occasion of his 95th milestone.
In a congratulatory message issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, the President described Pa Okoro’s contributions to the development of Nigeria’s rail infrastructure as ‘commendable and enduring,’ noting that his visionary leadership laid important foundations for the modernisation of the rail sector.
President Tinubu acknowledged the role played by the pioneer NRC Chief Executive in developing a 25-year rail master plan, which provided the framework for the introduction of standard-gauge rail lines and other modern structures in Nigeria’s railway system.
He also commended Pa Okoro for his role in planning and facilitating rail transportation in post-independence Nigeria, helping to strengthen safety, efficiency, and operational coordination in the sector.
As Pa Okoro marks his 95th birthday, President Tinubu expressed gratitude for his service to the nation and prayed that God Almighty grants him continued good health, strength, and peace in the years ahead.
