President Bola Tinubu has commended the Super Eagles following their impressive victory over Algeria, describing the performance as inspiring and worthy of national pride.
In a post on his official X handle, @OfficialABAT, the President praised the team’s display, saying “Brilliant performance… Inspiring.”
President Tinubu assured the players of the nation’s continued support, saying that the Super Eagles carry the hopes and encouragement of Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
“Go, Super Eagles! You have the support of all Nigerians,” the President stated.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have boosted confidence in the national team with their victory over The Desert Foxes, Algeria, as the side builds momentum ahead of future international fixtures.
They secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a convincing 2–0 victory over Algeria at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Saturday.
During the Nigeria-Algeria match, Victor Osimhen placed Nigeria ahead in the 47th minute with a header, before Akor Adams sealed the victory ten minutes later with a calm right-footed finish.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face host nation Morocco in the semi-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with kick-off set for 9:00 p.m local time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
