As the 2023 General Election draws near, a press release distribution agency, PRNigeria, has cautioned Nigerians against fake and sensational opinion polls that could heat up the polity, causing chaos.
The Head of Investigations and Fact-checking, PRNigeria, Mr. Mohammed Dahiru Lawal, raised concern over the political polls’ opinion by some pollsters.
Mr. Lawal urged Nigerians not to rely on the opinion polls organized to create sensation, as only the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has the mandate to conduct and announce election results.
He called on the electorates to vote for credible candidates of their choice and eschew violence before, during, and after the elections.
He further advised Nigerians to adhere to electoral rules and guidelines so as to avoid being disenfranchised during the election.
