The Super Falcons of Nigeria were beaten 1-0 by Colombia in the Revelation Cup tournament, losing its 7th consecutive match under coach Randy Waldrum, at the Leon Stadium in Mexico.
Colombia forward Linda Caicedo scored the only goal of the game in the 9th minute after she took advantage of a defensive error by Nigeria’s Halimatu Ayinde.
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie pulled off save after save to keep the Nigerians in the game as Colombia looked to extend its lead.
However, the nine-time African champions were unable to break down Colombia’s resilient defence as the match finished 1-0.

The Super Falcons, who were also defeated 1-0 by hosts Mexico in their opening game at the Revelation Cup, have now lost seven consecutive games.
Since losing the semi-final match at the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) against Morocco, Nigeria have gone on to lose against Zambia, twice against the USA and Japan.
The two defeats against Mexico and Colombia at the Revelation Cup completes a seven-match losing streak for the Super Falcons.
Nigeria will next face Costa Rica in its final game at the Revelation Cup and they would be hoping to put an end to the losing streak under coach Waldrum.
