The Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Mrs Valerie Fubara, has extended warmth, care and goodwill to babies born on Christmas Day 2025, as part of activities marking the yuletide season in the state.

Mrs Fubara paid a Christmas morning visit to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), where she was presented with two Christmas Day babies. The first, baby Eric Chinyere Blessing, weighing 2.7 kilograms, was delivered at 12:02 a.m., while baby Chidugam Kinikachi Owhondah was born at 2:00 a.m.

She presented gift items, including toiletries and cash, to the Christmas babies and their mothers, and said that it has become a valued tradition in Rivers State to celebrate and identify with babies born during the Christmas and New Year period.

“I encourage parents to raise their children in the fear of God, as such upbringing will make them blessings to their families and society at large,” Mrs Fubara said.

In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of RSUTH, Professor Chizindu Alikor, warmly welcomed Mrs Fubara and appreciated her compassionate gesture.
