Rivers United defender confident of bouncing back against Enyimba
Rivers United defender, Ifeanyi Anaemena, is confident they will overturn Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Enyimba in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup and book a place in the group stage.
Stanley Eguma side enjoyed a lot of possession and created a handful of chances, but they were unable to find a way past Enyimba goalkeeper, John Noble.
They were eventually undone by a goal from Cyril Olisema, which handed the home side a vital first-leg victory.
He said, “We did play very well against Enyimba but we lost narrowly.
“Enyimba are a good side and have a strong pedigree in Africa. We’ve lost in their home and we are back in Port Harcourt to prepare and make sure that we reverse the 1-0 deficit.
“This is football, things can still go either way. We know Enyimba have the advantage, but there is every possibility that we can qualify.”
