Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reiterated the need for unity among members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during a high-profile visit to former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, signaling growing momentum within the party.

Speaking during the visit in Kano, Atiku said he came on behalf of the ADC leadership to warmly welcome Kwankwaso into the party, assuring him of their collective commitment to building a stronger political force. In a video on his social media handle, Atiku emphasized, “The time has come for us to unite in order to restore good governance, enhance development, and improve security in this country.”

In his response, Kwankwaso expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as both surprising and deeply appreciated.

He said, “I felt honoured to receive you and your delegation,” noting that the gesture reflected a spirit of unity within the party.

Kwankwaso confirmed his alignment with the ADC, stating that he and his political movement are fully committed to working collaboratively with the party’s leadership and members nationwide.

He added that “the party has already demonstrated encouraging signs of cooperation at both national and regional levels” and expressed confidence that such unity would translate into electoral success.

According to him, the ADC is positioning itself not just to win in Kano or the Northwest but to emerge victorious across Nigeria.

The meeting is widely seen as a significant step toward consolidating opposition strength ahead of future political contests, with both leaders signaling readiness to work together for the party’s national ambitions.
