Senate has confirmed the appointment of Dr Bernard Doro, as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The confirmation followed the screening and of the nominee at the Committee of the Whole.
Dr. Doro, while responding to questions from Senators said he would prioritise transparency and efficiency in humanitarian service delivery.
“I will create a humanitarian ecosystem that is efficient, that is transparent, and that is centred on the person that is being cared for,” he said.
Dr Doro pledged to strengthen collaboration among government agencies to eliminate duplication and improve outcomes.
He said; “I will create synergy amongst the different agencies of government and ensure that we are able to reduce duplication and achieve results, I believe that technology can help us to be able to achieve that’.
Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio put the nomination to a voice vote, and it was unanimously approved by the lawmakers.
Senator Akpabio thereafter congratulated Dr. Doro for his performance before the senate.
Dr. Doro, who hails from Plateau State was nominated to replace Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, who is now the Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC.
Born on Jan 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Doro is a medical and administrative professional with over two decades of experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, and strategic leadership in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Doro holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA in IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
He is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with NHS frontline experience across urgent care, general practice, and hospital settings.
Beyond his professional credentials, Dr. Doro is known for his involvement in youth mentorship and social impact programmes within the Nigerian diaspora and at home.
