Senatorial Candidate Disburses N200m Scholarships In Kano State

Candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial district under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdulkarim Zaura has commenced the disbursement of N200 million Scholarships to 10,000 tertiary education students.

The students are selected across the 44 local government areas of Kano State.

Zaura, at the Flag off ceremony in Kano state north Western Nigeria said each of the students would collect N20,000.

“No fewer than 3,000 students had been paid through their bank accounts while the remaining students would get theirs between Tuesday and Wednesday.

“A total of 36,700 students applied for the scholarship through our portal. 10,000 students were selected after the screening exercise, ” he said.

According to him, the gesture would be increased to 30,000 students when voted into office as a senator.

“Implore you to do the right thing by voting for the APC as we go in for the election in few days time,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries Mohammed Haruna who spoke unbehalf of the students commended the senatorial candidate for the love and financial support to the students, urging him ” to continue with the good work.”

The Kano Central senatorial district candidate also doled out N500,000.00 each to many Quranic schools, whose students have completed memorization of the Holy Book.

He says, “I made the pledge when I was invited to most of the graduation ceremonies, today I have decided to fulfill the promises.

He urged everybody to go out and vote peacefully during the election.

Zaura also expressed optimism in winning the February 25 National Assembly election.

He said his confidence in winning the election was based on the successful campaign carried out across the 15 Local Government Areas and 172 wards in the senatorial district.

“So, we are ready for the election which we are confident of winning by the grace of Almighty Allah,” he said.

He promised that if given the mandate, he would, through legislation, influence policies that would have direct impact on the masses and embark on constituency projects in the areas of health, education, roads, agriculture, infrastructures, human capital development among others.
