Milan ensured city rivals Inter’s stay at the top of Serie A was a brief one despite playing much of their win at Benevento with 10 men, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Franck Kessie’s penalty put Milan ahead before Sandro Tonali’s knee-high lunge on Artur Ionita was changed from yellow to red by the video assistant referee.

However, Rafael Leao curled in a second to move unbeaten Milan a point clear.

Benevento’s Gianluca Caprari also missed a spot-kick, firing wide after being fouled by Rade Krunic.

Lautaro Martinez scored a hat-trick as Inter Milan thrashed lowly Simy Nwankwo’s Crotone to keep the pressure on Serie A leaders AC Milan.

Inter claimed an eighth consecutive league win and are two points behind AC Milan, who beat Benevento.

Romelu Lukaku scored his 50th Inter goal, with Achraf Hakimi on target and a Luca Marrone own goal.

Lukaku’s goal took his goal tally for the season to 12. This makes him Serie A’s second top scorer behind Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo who is on 14 goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo meanwhile scored twice and created another goal as Juventus thrashed Udinese in Serie A.

Ronaldo opened the scoring with a trademark drive, after Aaron Ramsey’s pass, before threading a through ball for Federico Chiesa to score.

Ronaldo’s second goal took his tally this season to 14 from only 11 league games.

Marvin Zeegelaar scored a stoppage-time consolation for Udinese before Paulo Dybala added a fourth for Juve.

Andrea Pirlo’s side moved 10 points behind league leaders AC Milan, with a game in hand, while Udinese dropped to 13th and are without a win in four games.
