On Tuesday, the UK-based bank announced it is the first global systemically important bank to provide secure, regulated, and scalable access to deliverable spot trading in bitcoin and ether.

Institutional clients such as corporations, investors, and asset managers can now trade digital assets using familiar foreign exchange platforms, with non-deliverable forwards trading to be introduced soon, Standard Chartered said in a statement.

“As demand continues to grow, we aim to provide clients with a secure and efficient way to trade, manage, and navigate digital asset risk in line with regulatory standards,” CEO Bill Winters stated.
