Super Eagles Arrive Marrakech For Algeria Clash.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Marrakech ahead of their highly anticipated 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final encounter against Algeria’s Desert Foxes.

The team touched down at the Marrakech-Menara Airport at about 4:14 p.m. on Thursday, following a one-hour, 14-minute flight from Fès–Saïs Airport.

Players and officials are camped at the Savoy Le Grand Hotel, Marrakech, where the team will remain throughout their stay for the quarter-final phase of the tournament.

Super Eagles’ Media Officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed the team’s safe arrival and said attention had immediately shifted to recovery and match preparation.

“We had a smooth trip from Fès despite the tight schedule, and the focus now is on recovery and preparation,” Efoghe said.

He disclosed that all media engagements earlier scheduled for Thursday were postponed to allow the players adequate rest.

“Given the late arrival, the players requested time to rest, and we urge everyone to respect that decision,” he said.

“Further details, especially regarding MD-1 activities, will be shared with the media as soon as they are confirmed.”

The Super Eagles are expected to train at the Grande Stade Annex 2 from 6:00 p.m., although the timing remains tentative.

Efoghe noted that media access to the training session would be restricted to the mandatory first 15 minutes, in accordance with competition regulations.

Nigeria will face Algeria in one of the AFCON 2025 quarter-final fixtures on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 pm (WAT) at the Stade de Marrakech.
