Preparations are underway for the National Track Championships, as Nigeria’s top cyclists gear up for selection ahead of the 2026 CAC African Track and Para-Track Cycling Championships in Abuja.
The continental championships will take place in two phases at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome. The Para-Track events scheduled for 9th – 11th May, followed by the Track Championships from 13th – 17th May, 2026.
This preparatory phase is a critical step in assembling a strong Team Nigeria contingent, with athletes undergoing structured performance assessments and competitive evaluation.
With Abuja set to host cyclists from across the continent, the National Sports Commission, in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of Nigeria, is focused on ensuring Nigeria presents a competitive, well-prepared, and merit-based national team.
