Team Nigeria’s Umofia Wins 3 Gold Medals In Weightlifting
Team Nigeria’s Edidiong Joseph Umofia clinched 3 Gold medals in the men’s weightlifting 67kg category at the 13th edition of the African Games in Accra, Ghana on Monday.
Umofia lifted a remarkable 135kg in the Snatch and a brilliant 165kg in the Clean & Jerk, securing his status as the overall best in the competition with a total of 300kg.
His outstanding achievement takes Team Nigeria medals haul to 29 (10 Gold, 7 Silver and 12 Bronze) at the African Games in Accra, Ghana.
Nigerian weightlifting has achieved yet another triumph, with Umofia emerging as the standout athlete for Team Nigeria on Day 4 of the All African Games in Ghana.
