TETFund disowns fake social media accounts
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) of Nigeria has dissociated itself from some fake social media accounts operated under the name of the Executive Secretary Arc. Sonny Echono.
In a statement, TETFund’s Acting Director of Public Affairs, Abdulmumin Oniyangi noted that “the fake social media accounts are being operated by some unscrupulous elements… with the intent of deceiving and defrauding unsuspecting stakeholders and members of the public”.

Oniyangi explained that the fake social media accounts created by the individuals/groups are on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram amongst others.
TETFund used the opportunity to inform stakeholders and the general public that Arc. Sonny S.T. Echono does not conduct official transactions including TETFund duties on social media accounts.
“The general public, particularly active social media users are strongly advised to be wary of solicitations on social media accounts purporting to be that of Arc. Sonny S.T. Echono or TETFund as an organization,” Oniyangi stated.
