Top Political Stalwarts Join Wike in Thanksgiving Service

Top political stalwarts on Sunday, 18th June 2023, gathered at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Rumuepirikom Deanary, Rivers State to join the immediate past State Governor Nyesom Wike in a family Thanksgiving Service to celebrate the successful completion of his tenure.

Nyesom Ezenwo Wike was elected governor on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for two consecutive terms: 2015-2019; 2019-2023.

The event, which was well attended, drew dignitaries, among whom were Senators, House of Reps members, former and serving governors, and others.

The Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, to mention a few, were all present.

Also in attendance was Umar Damagum, the acting National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

There were encomiums and prayers for Wike.

“Congratulations, Your Excellency! You have done well,” said Francis Nwifuru, the newly sworn-in governor of Ebonyi State.

“…Governor Wike’s impact, dedication and service to Rivers State is an inspiration to many, and it was great to see other governors and special guests come out to celebrate him.

“Wishing Governor Wike and his family continued blessings and prosperity,” Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu tweeted.

The presiding clergymen took turns to pray for Wike and his family.

“You have used him excellently well to impact lives across the State and nationally.

“Lord, we demand that the years ahead of him… there shall be further lifting, further prosperity.

“Continue to order his footsteps, and I ask, Lord, continue to be their fortress,” prayed one of the clergymen.
