Voter Education: PDP Ebonyi embarks on Mass Mobilisation

The People’s Democratic Party PDP in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria has embarked on Mass Mobilisation for Voter education in the State.

 

This was contained in the Remarks made by the State Chairman, Mr Tochukwu Okorie during the State Executive Committee meeting held at Salt Lake Hotel Abakaliki the State Capital.

 

He said “today’s meeting is therefore crucial as it affords us the opportunity to commence the process of rescuing the people of Ebonyi State from the ongoing hunger, starvation, deprivation and bloodletting in the State”

 

He said Ebonyi people must be well sensitized to avoid voter apathy.

 

Okorie therefore called on on Ebonyi State Government and security agencies to unravel the circumstances behind the cause and whereabouts of the five NELAN Consultants working for African Development Bank AFDB on Abakaliki Ring road project, who were reportedly missing from the war-torn Effium Community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State while supervising the projects.

 

“We urge the concerned parties to put efforts together and ensure that they are released unhurt if they are still alive”, Okorie said.

Palliatives
The Senator representing Ebonyi Central Zone, Senator Obinna Ogba supplied bags of rice to all the 171 wards in the state.

 

Ogba said the gesture is to alleviate the hunger and starvation which has been ongoing in the state since 2015.

 

He also donated 17 Vehicles comprising one Lexus Jeep and one Hilux to the State Party Chairman.

 

Another car was also donated to the State Vice Chairman and 13 Sienna Buses to the Chairmen of 13 Local Government Areas of the State.

 

This to ensure that the leadership of PDP in Ebonyi State is given the necessary support to perform optimally in the discharge of their duties.

 

Ogba said PDP is out to ensure that the good people of the State are liberated from the shackles of poverty, hunger and starvation which is the order of the day in the State.

 

Some of the Party Elders, Boniface Ofoke, Fidelis Nwankwo among others urged the members of the party to continue to be united to ensure that Ebonyi State and Nigeria get better in nearest future.
