William Troost-Ekong Foundation To Launch With Charity Match

Super Eagles of Nigeria defender, William Troost-Ekong, will launch his foundation with a charity football match scheduled to take place June 2nd, 2024, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

The charity match, which will mark the launch of the William Troost-Ekong Foundation, aims to raise funds for various charitable causes.

Troost-Ekong, 30, who was named the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) best player in Cote d’Ivoire, expressed his excitement for the event on social media network X, stating, “Fundraising Charity Match Sunday 02.06.2024. E GO LOUD.”

The launch of the William Troost-Ekong foundation will be witnessed by Super Eagles stars and Nigerian football stakeholders from across the nation.

The charity match will take place just before the Super Eagles of Nigeria face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a 2026 World Cup qualifier in Uyo.

Troost-Ekong is a native of Akwa Ibom State and so is expected to draw massive crowd and support from the government and people of the oil-rich state.
