The National Planning Committee (NPC) for the World Public Relations Forum 2026 in Abuja has designated Voice of Nigeria (VON) as the host broadcast organisation for the global event.
Receiving members of the planning committee at the VON headquarters in Abuja, the Director-General of VON, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, who is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), expressed appreciation to the committee for the honour and assured them of the organisation’s commitment to providing extensive coverage for the forum.

Mallam Ndace highlighted VON’s global broadcasting capacity, noting that the organisation transmits in eight languages, a development he said provides a unique platform to connect participants from different parts of the world and amplify the reach of the World Public Relations Forum 2026.
“At the Voice of Nigeria our mandate as Nigeria’s external broadcasting service is to project the nation’s perspective, value and achievement to the global community and we believe that this event coming up this year would give us the opportunity to do all of this and even more. This responsibility we also believe aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and also the five pillars of the Federal Ministry of Information led by the Minister of Information Mohammed Idris.
“It is therefore natural for us to see this partnership with the NIPR first as a strategic alignment with our mission of telling Nigerian story to the world” he said.
Dedicated Working Committee
He also announced that VON while reviewing the memoranda of agreement with the WPRF, would establish a dedicated working committee within the organisation to coordinate coverage and support activities aimed at ensuring the successful hosting and global visibility of the forum.
“We are confident that this collaboration will not only strengthen the global profile of the World Public Relatins Forum, but will also enforce Nigeria’s position as a hub for strategic communication.” he added
International Interest
Similarly, the Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Dr. Suleiman Haruna, said preparations for the World Public Relations Forum 2026 were generating significant national and international interest, attracting widespread media attention.
He said that it became imperative to establish partnerships with the media to enforce Nigeria’s positive narrative and VON was considered because of its diaspora reach.
Dr. Haruna encouraged prospective participants to take advantage of the early registration window, noting that the forum is expected to host about 3,000 participants from across the world.
He also commended Voice of Nigeria for providing an office space to support the planning activities of the forum’s organising committee.
