Yuletide: Nasarawa First Lady celebrates with orphans

Nasarawa State First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, has donated palliatives to orphans in Gudi Community, Akwanga Local Government Area of the state in the spirit of Christmas and as part of activities to commemorate the 61st birthday of the Governor.

The 163 benefiting orphans, whose educational and other needs are borne by Hajiya Silifat Sule, are from Gudi community as well as the various local governments of the state.

The First Lady who donated the items through her foundation, Silifat Abdullahi Sule (SAS) Hope Foundation, reiterated her foundation’s readiness to initiate policies and programs that will impact positively on the lives of the vulnerable in the society, especially orphans with a view to giving them a sense of belonging.

Hajiya Sule used the occasion to pray for her husband, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule as he turned 61. She also used the event which coincides with the Christmas celebration to urge Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ who symbolizes sacrifice, love, unity, peace, and dignity for the human race.

She further called on the Gudi community and the state as a whole to continue to support the efforts of Governor Abdullahi Sule in his quest to improve the living standards of the people while reiterating her foundation’s avowed commitment to provide succour to the masses.

Secretary to the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Hajiya Hashiya Ahmed applauded the First Lady for her humanitarian assistance and advised parents to prioritize investing in their wards education, especially the girl-child.

Some beneficiaries of the gesture, Abdulaziz Idris, Paul Emmanuel, and Ayimo Samuel expressed their profound gratitude to the First Lady for impacting their lives positively and wished her success in all her endeavours.

Highlights of the event were the cutting of a birthday cake by Her Excellency, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule alongside some of the orphans.

 

Earlier, the First Lady attended an event to celebrate the 61st Birthday of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule organized by the State Executive Council members led by the Acting Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe at the conference hall of the Government House in Lafia.

The event which was attended by members of the state executive council, state Assembly members, local government chairmen, and other political appointees availed the opportunity for special prayers for the Governor to succeed.
