A business man from Ogun state, South West Nigeria, Mr Sunday Adenuga has clinched the presidential ticket of Boot Party (BP) for the 2023 general election.
Declaring the result in Abuja the nations capital today 7th June, 2023, the party’s primaries committee chairman and the party electoral umpire, Usman Mustapher Turaki said the process is first of its kind in Nigeria. He said citizens were allowed to cast their vote from all over the country to decide who they want and not some individual deciding for the general interest of the people.
“Sunday Adenuga polled 292 votes against Evelyn Ohevire who polled 18 vote, I therefor announce Sunday Adenuga the winner and presidential candidate and flag bearer of our party” he said.
The electronic voting (e-voting) was conducted in 10 states and the FCT. The states are Abia, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Kano, Kebbi, Katsina, Ogun, Lagos, Sokoto and Rivers state with the total vote cast of 310.
The primaries was monitored by Mr Effiong John Afaha and Mr Okezie Nwankwo both officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, FCT, Abuja.
