Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have thrown their weight behind President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abba Yusuf as sole candidates for 2027 general election.
The endorsement followed a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House in Kano, signaling an early start to political alignments ahead of the polls.
As part of the process, party stakeholders also procured nomination and expression of interest forms for Governor Yusuf, paving the way for his re-election bid.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Yusuf emphasised that no consensus candidate has yet emerged in Kano, urging stakeholders to carefully identify credible aspirants for elective positions through broad-based agreement.

He commended the unity within the party, describing it as a strong indicator of APC’s readiness for the elections.
Former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje called on party leaders to strengthen grassroots consultations to ensure smooth consensus-building without internal disputes.
Lawmakers and other party leaders at the meeting applauded Governor Yusuf’s development strides, particularly his “Kano First” agenda, while reaffirming their support for his administration.

Speaking on behalf of the party leadership in the state, APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa reiterated the commitment of the party to secure victory for both Tinubu and Yusuf in 2027, citing their leadership records as justification for a second term.
The meeting, attended by top party figures including Ganduje, National Assembly members, and local government stakeholders, marks a significant milestone in APC’s early preparations for the 2027 elections.
