Stakeholders from the nine Local Government Areas of Southern Adamawa Senatorial District in Adamawa State, have intensified consultations and united efforts ahead of the 2027 general election, outlining key development priorities to guide their choice of a senatorial candidate.
The stakeholders identified improved education, skills acquisition, infrastructure development, and youth and women empowerment as critical criteria for selecting a representative capable of delivering meaningful development at the national level.
The position was made known during a stakeholders’ meeting in Numan Local Government Area, where participants formally endorsed Kwamoti Laori, the lawmaker representing Numan, Demsa, and Lamurde Federal Constituency, for the district’s senatorial seat.
Convener of the meeting, Ali Burama, who is also the Managing Director of AA Burama Multi-Link Limited, said the endorsement followed extensive consultations with traditional rulers, political leaders, youth groups, and community representatives across the zone.
Burama noted that the decision reflected a consensus built on Laori’s track record in legislative service and his engagement with constituents.
“We in Southern Adamawa believe in Laori’s leadership capacity. He has demonstrated commitment to education, economic growth, and youth empowerment,” he said.
He staded that presenting a consensus candidate would reduce internal divisions and strengthen the district’s political influence.
“Our decision is driven by the need for credible and effective representation. We are confident that Laori has the experience and vision to deliver democratic dividends,” Burama stated, noting that the lawmaker has facilitated projects across the 33 wards in his constituency.
Also speaking, Adamawa State Commissioner for Information, James Iliya, commended the stakeholders for reaching a consensus, describing Laori as a grassroots politician with a deep understanding of the people’s needs.
