The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), a key administrative position in southeastern Nigeria’s commercial hub.
The announcement was made on Monday in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.

Nnake, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and holder of a Master of Business Administration, brings more than 13 years of experience in finance, strategy, and public sector development. She is from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Prior to her appointment, she served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, where she oversaw the mobilisation and allocation of state resources to support socio-economic development.
She also chaired Solution Fun City Limited and held leadership roles across several state institutions, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board, and the Small Business Agency.
Nnake has played a central role in advancing reforms in the state, serving as Reform Champion for Ease of Doing Business and as focal point for social investment programmes aimed at promoting inclusive growth. She also holds a national leadership role as Chairperson of the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) Programme in Nigeria.
Before transitioning into public service, she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers Nigeria as a Senior Strategy Consultant, leading more than 30 engagements across domestic and international markets in sectors including financial services, government, and agriculture. Her performance earned her the firm’s CEO Award in 2021.
During her time at PwC, she contributed to the development of the Anambra Vision 2070, a long-term strategic blueprint for sustainable growth, and supported the state’s Combined Transition Plan, a cornerstone of the current administration’s policy framework.
Earlier in her career, she held roles as a Business Analyst at IHS Towers and as an Equity Research Analyst at Meristem Securities, where she covered publicly listed pharmaceutical and consumer goods companies.
Nnake holds an MBA from Lagos Business School, where she received the Beta Gamma Sigma lifetime recognition for academic excellence. She earned a First-Class degree in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University.
She is a member of the ACCA National Advisory Committee, has completed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme, and has attended executive training at Harvard Kennedy School. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy.
Nnake, 39, is married with three children.
