Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including federal and state officials, National Assembly members, and party leaders, on Monday converged in Ilorin to review and commend the achievements of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, across key sectors of the state’s economy.
At the meeting, members of the state executive council presented data and visual evidence highlighting progress in infrastructure, finance, education, urban renewal, and social welfare since 2019.
Commissioner for Works, Abdulquawiy Olododo, said the administration has completed, is executing, or has facilitated road projects totaling about 872km surpassing the combined records of the three previous administrations since 1999.
Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuhu, reported significant growth in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue, rising from ₦30.6 billion in 2019 to ₦87.1 billion by December 2025.
She added that the government has implemented two minimum wages, cleared inherited salary and pension arrears, and approved new welfare packages for workers, including teachers.
In the education sector, Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, said the government has recruited 8,912 teachers, constructed over 2,000 classrooms, and cleared long-standing promotion arrears.
Other presentations highlighted urban renewal projects, the Kwara Smart City initiative, and ongoing work on the Kwara State University of Education.
Dignitaries at the event, including the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi; Senator Salihu Mustapha; Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi; and the Directors-General of the Nigeria Orientation Agency and Nigeria Governors’ Forum, described the administration’s performance as unprecedented and visible across the state.
In his remarks, Governor AbdulRazaq said his focus remains on building a lasting legacy and a viable state, rather than a political dynasty.
He also spoke on security efforts, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity, and acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies in expanding infrastructure development.
