Borno Government Boost Security With Vehicles, Motorcycles

The Governor of Borno State in Northeast Nigeria, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has strengthened security in the state by providing 50 vehicles and 300 motorbikes for the State’s security forces.

The Executive Secretary of the Borno State Security Trust Fund, Ali Shettima Marte, pointed out that the trust fund was established in 2019 by the state’s legislative assembly during the current administration.

He mentioned, “The security trust fund has achieved significant accomplishments, providing vehicles and aiding numerous security groups with their transportation and other operational needs.”

Governor Zulum revealed the designated vehicles and motorcycles, with representatives from various security agencies in attendance. The governor announced the distribution of 175 motorcycles to the army, 10 for vigilantes, 30 for hunters, and 10 for the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

The Governor said: “Kidnappers and other criminal elements have created many atrocities therefore we will ensure that they are dealt with, the government of Borno State will always support the military in curtailing the menace in the state also noting that this is the first batch of the distribution.”

The theatre commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Gold Chibuisi, appreciated and thanked the Borno State Governor for the unprecedented gesture and assured the governor that the vehicles and motorcycles would be utilised for the purpose.
