Business Leaders pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II

Business Leaders across the world have paid tributes to the Queen of England after the news of her death on Thursday evening.

Queen Elizabeth II died in her home, the Balmoral Palace in Scotland.

The Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala described the late Queen as a figure of strength.

 “Deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She was such a figure of strength and continuity. A great loss for the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and the World.
@RoyalFamily,” Iweala wrote on Twitter.

The founder of E-commerce giant,  Amazon, Jeff Bezos sent his deepest condolences to the people of Britain.

“I can think of no one who better personified duty,” Bezos said.

“My deepest condolences to all the Brits mourning her passing today.”

Also, Nick Clegg, president of global affairs at Meta and a former UK deputy prime minister, said that the Queen’s “stoicism and sense of duty was a calming and stabilising influence throughout the ups and downs of many tumultuous decades, and her devotion to the people of the UK and the Commonwealth was unconditional.” 

Meanwhile, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO said:

“There is nothing more noble than to devote your life to the service of others. “We stand with the people of the UK and Commonwealth in honoring the life and dedication to duty of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. May she rest in peace.”

Also, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said:

“I feel honored to have met HM Queen Elizabeth, and I am very sad to hear of her passing,” Gates tweeted.

“My deepest condolences to the Royal Family and the British people.”

Prince Charles, the Queen’s son takes over as the new King of England.

Queen Elizabeth ruled for 70 years and was described as Britain’s longest serving monarch. She was 96 years old.
