Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC, has called for cooperation and Mass mobilisation of Heads of Schools nationwide in readiness for the 2022 National Schools Personnel Audit, NPA.
Soliciting support for the conduct of the 2022 NPA, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, in Abuja said the commission has continued to hold a consultative meeting with critical stakeholders to put in place a structure that would update the 2018 database continuously.
According to the UBEC Exec. Secretary, the Commission is poised to build a culture of data generation and management down to the school level.
“This could not be achieved due to the absence of facilities and personal at different levels of schools, Local Government Education Areas, SUBEBs”
“It is, therefore, the need to update the 2018 school data that the commission and UBEBS are u undertaking the 2022 National Personnel Audit”
Dr. Bobboyi said at a one-day meeting held with religious leaders, stated that the meeting became necessary to solicit support and explain the role of the religious leaders in the conduct of the nationwide school audit.
“It is also to seek your suggestions on how we can ensure the success of the exercise so that Nigeria can have credible basic school data that can be quoted and used with confidence all over the world”.
The Chairman National Planning Committee of the 2022 NPA, Prof.Bala Zakari said the one-day meeting with the critical stakeholders set the tone for the commencement of the Year 2022 NPA.
on behalf of Islamic leaders across the country, Dr. Khalid Aliyu pledged the support of the religious institutions to the conduct of the school audit exercise.
The Representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Barr. Joseph Daramola called for more investment in the Nigerian education sector.
Daramola stressed that government at all levels, as well as regulatory agencies, must be more firm in addressing issues of discipline in schools across the country.
He applauded UBEC on its Early Child Care Development Education saying the platforms are now also found in faith-based institutions.
