The event, organized by the SERVICOM Office in the Presidency, highlighted the Ministry’s exceptional commitment to public service and quality service delivery.

The awards won by the Ministry include the Special Recognition Award, Most Innovative in Team A, Best Performing in Team A, and the highly coveted Overall Best Performing MDA Award.

The Honourable Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, dedicated the accolades to Nigerians and to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating an enabling environment to deliver impactful services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Pate emphasized that public service is rooted in purpose, driven by commitment, and focused on results. He described the awards as a testament to the Ministry’s unwavering dedication to excellence in service delivery, adding that the recognitions validate the Ministry’s efforts to improve healthcare for all Nigerians.

“These awards represent more than an acknowledgment of effort,” Prof. Pate stated. “They symbolize the collective work of our team, the strength of our systems, and the early results we are achieving to make a real difference in the lives of Nigerians.”

The Coordinating Minister lauded the contributions of the Ministry’s leadership team, including the former Minister of State, Dr. Tunji Alausa; his colleague, Hon. Iziaq Adekunle Salako; the Permanent Secretary; and other key stakeholders in the health sector.

He also commended the SERVICOM teams, regulatory bodies, heads of agencies, and hospitals for their collaborative efforts in advancing the Ministry’s goals.

Highlighting the significance of the Special Recognition Award, Prof. Pate noted that it underscores the Ministry’s sustained drive to connect government to citizens through quality service delivery. He attributed this success to the adoption of the Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp), which aligns government efforts with development partners and other stakeholders to drive meaningful change.

Prof. Pate also reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to prioritizing health, referencing the President’s declaration that “health is back on the front burner of Nigeria’s policy agenda.”

“Under the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII), the Ministry has advanced critical reforms, including revitalizing primary healthcare, enhancing health security, and improving access to care for all Nigerians”. He added.

The Coordinating Minister called for sustained innovation, collaboration, and commitment to ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind in the Ministry’s quest to deliver improved healthcare services nationwide.
