The Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has nominated Mr. Saidu Yahya as the new Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC).
His name has been forwarded to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The nomination was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature.
Mr. Yahya, born in 1978, is an experienced anti-corruption expert with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bayero University Kano and a master’s degree in business administration, specialising in Entrepreneurship and Venture Creation.

He has over 18 years of experience with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), where he held key roles, including Team Leader in the General Investigations and Constituency Projects Tracking Division.
Renowned for his work in investigating bribery, money laundering, illicit financial flows, and project monitoring, Yahya has trained with top institutions such as the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Justice, and the Guards Brigade.
His appointment is expected to bolster the commission’s capacity in tackling corruption and strengthening accountability mechanisms across Kano State.
Also, a related development, Governor Yusuf has appointed Barrister Hafsat Ada’u Kutama as the new Secretary and Legal Adviser of the Commission.
She replaces Barr. Zaharadden Hamisu Kofar Mata, who has been directed to return to the Ministry of Justice for redeployment.
The Governor also expressed appreciation to the outgoing PCACC Chairman, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, for his service, his commitment to transparency and good governance.
He added that the state remains open to future collaborations with him.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to deepen accountability and uphold integrity in public service.
