Kogi governor felicitates with former governor at 72

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has facilitated with the former Governor of the State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, on the occasion of his 72nd birthday anniversary celebration.

In a statement Governor Bello laud the former governor for his generous heart, political astuteness and uncommon intellect.

He said the former governor’s unprecedented achievements in the business world have impacted in both socioeconomic and political developments of kogi state.

”On this unique day, we want to appreciate you for your immense and remarkable contributions to the growth and development of our dear State. Governor Bello said.

“I congratulate you and I thank the Almighty Allah for your life; we pray Allah will continue to uplift you even as you continue to give your elderly counsel to this generation based on your wealth of political knowledge and experience. He added.

Also, the wife of the former Governor of the State, Aisha Ibrahim-Idris, while congratulating her husband at 72, described him as role model who is worthy to emulate.

According to Hajiya Ibrahim-idris, her husband despite his tight scheduled as a politician, an elder-statesman as well as business person is committed to playing his role effectively in the family.

The former Governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris has called on Nigerians to be more united irrespective of religion tribal or political affiliation.

According to him, concerted effort is needed for peace and development of the country.

Ibrahim-Idris during his coronation as Jekadan Sokoto, by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar the III where his family also celebrated his birthday called on Nigerians to always be straight forward in running their daily lives and maintained peace in the country.

He commended Sultan Abubakar and people of Sokoto State for finding him worthy and conferring on him, the traditional title of ‘Jekadan Sokoto’ along twelve others to assist him in the council.

He explained that as an Ambassador, he would use the opportunity to promote peace and unity among Nigerians for sustainable security and development.

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Sa’ad described the newly turbaned Jakadan Sokoto,Alhaji Ibrahim Idris as being deserving of the title, urging well meaning Nigerians to emulate the good gestures of the former Kogi Governor.

He said the high responsibility given to the former Governor in far away sokoto state was borne out of his early decision to invest all his life in the Sokoto caliphate.
