Stock Market resumes bearish

Trading activities resumed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in the negative on Tuesday after closing last Thursday to observe the Good Friday and Easter Monday holidays.

The market index fell by 0.39% on Tuesday

Also, the market capitalisation dropped by N146 billion to close at N20.282 trillion compared to N20.428 on the last day of trading last week

All share index
The all share index shed 0.39% or 150.13 basis points to close at 38,766.61 points as against 38,916.74 last Thursday.

Tuesday’s trading saw a total of 224.59 million shares worth N2.14 billion traded in 4,675 deals.

The market recorded 14 gainers as against 21 losers on Tuesday.

Gainers
Eternal led the gainers list as it gained N0.54k to close at N5.99K. It was followed by Link Assurance which gained N0.07k to close at N0.79k, then Royalex gained N0.03k to close at N0.36k.

Losers
On the flip side, MRS topped the losers table as it lost N1.20k to close at N10.90k, followed by Alex with a loss of N0.80k to close at N7.30k while Chi Plc lost N0.03k to close at N0.29k.

UACN had the highest volume of trade on Tuesday as it traded 34,049 million shares worth N337, 606 million and Access was next with 26,347 million shares valued at N214,930.
