Kogi House of Assembly Swears in New Member

The Kogi State House of Assembly officially sworn in Hassan Musa as the new member representing Okura State Constituency in Dekina Local Government Area in Kogi State North-Central zone, Nigeria.

The swearing-in ceremony took place during the House of Assembly’s first plenary session after its legislative recess, presided over by the Speaker Aliyu Umar Yusuf.

The oath of office was administered by the Clerk of the House,Ahmed Chogudo, as a formal way of the Induction of Shado into the 8th Assembly.

This was possible following a recent by-election that was conducted by INEC in search of a replacement for the late Enema Paul who was previously representing the same constituency.

Shado emerged victorious and has restored the Parliament’s full capacity of 25 members.

While Speaking to the legislators, Speaker Aliyu Yusuf congratulated Shado on his victory and urged “him to serve his people with dignity, humility, and ensuring they are well represented in all domains.”

The Speaker expressed confidence that the new lawmaker would be a valuable addition to the Assembly and contribute meaningfully to legislative duties.

He also praised the people of Okura Constituency for their trust in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and for their support for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration during the by-election.

Speaker Yusuf also reiterated “the importance of effective representation, makes development possible, all members of the House must remain committed to their core duties of lawmaking, oversight functions and promoting public welfare, they must be accountable rendering a meaningful service to the people,”

In his remarks, Hassan Musa expressed gratitude to God, his constituents, and the leadership of the House of Assembly for their support and warm reception.

He promised to represent Okura Constituency with dedication and integrity, adding that he his ready to collaborate with his colleagues to advance development across the state.

As Shado takes oath of office, Kogi State 8th Assembly resumes full legislative duties, ready to pursue its agenda of service, accountability, and good governance.
