The Kwara State Government has rolled out its achievements in the health sector within the second quarter of the year 2024 to include the renovation of primary health care centres, procurement of state of the art medical equipment and training of health workers, among others.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-lmam made this known during the quarterly inter-ministerial press briefing held at the Kwara State Ministry of Finance Ilorin.
The Commissioner listed the already completed projects such as the renovation of primary health care centres at Tanke in Ilorin South and Mawokpan in Edu LGA, as well as the
renovation of the General Hospital at Afon in Asa LGA, including the construction of a slab at the Primary Health care centre in Alanamu in Ilorin West.
Dr El-lmam, however, emphasized that there are many ongoing projects that are 95% completed such as the renovation of the primary health care centre at Ojagboro, the structural expansion of the Adewole Cottage Hospital in Ilorin, the renovation of the Eye Clinic at the Sobi Specialist Hospital Alagbado, the renovation of the Cottage Hospital Ilorin, and the construction of the Civil Service Hospital, GRA in Ilorin.
The Commissioner also revealed that the State Government has procured some essential medical equipment to various facilities across the State to boost efficient health care delivery.
She, however, applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the payment of 2024 Medical Residency Training Fund to Resident Doctors in the State and the approval of various free medical and surgical outreaches across the sixteen Local Government Areas of the State to enable the less privileged in the State have access to basic healthcare services.
