In a move to strengthen Nigeria’s technological landscape, members of the National Assembly Joint Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity recently conducted an oversight visit to the National Shared Services Centre (NSSC), the flagship hub managed by Galaxy Backbone (GBB).
The visit served as a high-level assessment of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to fortify Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and enhance its cybersecurity posture.

The delegation, led by Hon. Stanley Olajide Adedeji, Chairman of the House Committee on Digital and Information Technology, engaged in deep-dive discussions with GBB’s leadership regarding the agency’s performance and strategic roadmap.
Hon. Adedeji hailed Galaxy Backbone as a “strategic national asset,” noting that the institution is pivotal to Nigeria’s economic security.
He emphasised the need for sustained legislative support and increased investment in government ICT institutions to drive economic growth, security, and global competitiveness.

Responding to the delegation, the Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Ibrahim A. Adeyanju, expressed his appreciation for the legislative oversight. He reaffirmed GBB’s core mission to provide secure and scalable ICT solutions.
“Our commitment remains steadfast in delivering reliable infrastructure not just to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), but also to the private sector, ensuring a unified digital ecosystem for all of Nigeria,” Prof. Adeyanju stated.
The NSSC continues to be the nerve centre for government data and connectivity, providing the backbone necessary for the country’s digital transformation agenda.
