NGX Market capitalization rises by N42 billion

Trading activities closed in the positive on Friday, the last day of the week, as market capitalization of equities gained N42 billion to close at N20,146 trillion as against N20,104 trillion on Thursday.

 

Similarly, the All-share Index appreciated by 0.21% to close at 38,667.90 points being 82.38 points higher than 38,585.52 points recorded at the close of trading on Thursday.

 

Friday’s trading saw a total of 230,254,143 shares with market value of N2.311billion traded in 4,135 deals.

 

UNIVINSURE led the gainers’ table having gained N0.02k or 10% to close at N0.22k per share. It was followed by OANDO with N0.36k or 9.97% gain to close at N3.97k, then TOTAL which gained N18.40k or 9.96% to close at N203.20k.

 

On the other hand, UPL led the losers’ list after it lost N0.14k or 9.03%  to close at 0.41k, followed by CHAMPION which lost 0.20k or 8.89% to close at N2.20k and REDSTAREX, which lost N0.10k or 3.03%  to close at N3.20k

 

FIDELITY BANK was the toast of investors for the day as it had the biggest volume of traded shares of 24.76 million worth N59.35 billion followed by ZENITH BANK with 24.29 million shares.

 

Most of the indices performance was positive as three out of the five sub-sectors tracked closed in green:

The Banking index gained 0.51%; the Oil and Gas index gained 3.98%  and the Consumer goods index rose by 0.40%, while the Insurance index fell by 0.01%   and the Industrial index closed flat.
