NSE: Positive closing for 2020 equity trading

Equities trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) remained upbeat at the close of business for 2020.

 

At the end of the trading session, the key market indicators, the NSE all-share index stood at 1.91% or 758.41 basis points to close at 40,270.72 as against 39, 512.31 recorded on Wednesday, market capitalization increased by N396.55 billion to close the day at N21.056 trillion higher than the N20,660 trillion of the previous day.

 

The trading activities closed with 18 gainers and 24 losers as investors exchanged hands with 710.70 million units of shares in 4,399 deal.

 

Bocgas came tops on the gainers chart with 10% to close at N9.57k from an opening of N8.70k followed by NNFM with 9.95% to close at N6.74k per share from an opening of N6.13k per share.

 

While Cileasing had 9.94% to close at N5.20k per share from an opening of N4.73k.

 

On the other hand, FTN Cocoa led the losers’ chart with -9.59% to close at N0.66k per share from an opening of N0.73k per share followed by Eterna with -9.09% loss to close at N5.10k per share from an opening of N5.61k and AIICO Insurance  had -8.87% to close at N1.13k per share from an opening of N1.24k per share.
